History of Bile beer

Until recently, the technology of making this type of beer was almost the only exception in the German law of beer “purity”.
German law, created to preserve the "purity of beer", allowed to use only water, barley and hops to brew beer.
Yeast was not mentioned because it had not been yet discovered.

For more than three centuries, only the Bavarian royal family had the exclusive right to brew wheat beer, and only in the end of the 19th century it gave up this right, when it allowed private breweries to produce it.
Today, according to various sources of data, about a quarter of the beer produced in German most known “beer region”, Bavaria, is wheat white beer.
White beer was also popular in Belgium, where brewers, unlike in Germany, liked to experiment by adding various herbs and fruits to beer.
